Easy Honey-based Recipes

Honey Nut Butter Yoghurt Dip

  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ¼ cup plain yoghurt
  • ¼ cup nut butter (peanut, almond or any other butters are fine!)
  • (Optional: dash of cinnamon.)

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl. Stir until a smooth consistency.

Use as dip for fruit (apples and bananas are really perfect), or crackers, pretzels or any other food you might think would taste delicious with this mix.

No-bake Honey Treats

  • ½ cup honey
  • ½ cup butter (peanut, almond etc.)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup slivered almonds
  • ½ cup unsweetened coconut flakes
  • ½ cup sunflower or sesame seeds (or both)
  • Pinch of salt

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, add honey, some kind of nut butter, and vanilla extracts. Stir to combine.

Then add almonds, coconut flakes, sunflower and/or sesame seeds and salt. Stir well until nuts and seeds are evenly coated.

Make into round balls…about a tablespoon per ball.

Refrigerate for two hours.

How to find the Blooming Barn Flower Farm

You can find the flower lady with the brightly coloured hair at 3617 Dove Creek Road.

Leaving downtown Courtenay via the Condensory Bridge, follow Condensory Road to the corner of Dove Creek, Burns, and Condensory, and turn RIGHT onto Dove Creek Road. Follow that nice country road around to the right some more and you’ll find the Blooming Barn just around that corner.
